Adult volunteers are essential to The Book Works. Your life and professional experiences can help youth and young adults explore new careers, learn “workplace realities”, and connect with needed (but often difficult to access) resources.
- Host a tour of your worksite.
- Share the story of your career path and the work-life lessons you’ve learn.
- Connect a young person with a community resource, scholarship, or job opportunity.
- Encourage a newly independent young adult to persist through challenges.
- Teach a workshop on business, marketing, money management or your area of expertise.
- Help with in-class activities such as conducting mock interviews and sharing work-life lessons.
We also need volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors and assist with organizational development. Volunteers receive the training and support to make a difference. The commitment is low, the rewards are high!!
