Advocate training includes tools and tips to:
● Identify a young person’s individual education goals and needs;
● Advocate with the student to enroll in the best fit educational setting;
● Access educational services;
● Address barriers to attending school and to learning;
● Assist youth to advocate effectively for themselves.
Education Advocacy Convenings
The Book Works offers day-long conversations with partners, funders, decision makers, and young people about issues impacting high school age learners.
Advocacy Essentials Workshops
These 1.5 hour workshops introduce foundational skills and information for advocating for and with high school age youth reconnecting with education.
Topics in Education Advocacy
These one-hour “how to” workshops equip advocates to navigate specific education situations. A series of topics are offered throughout the year.
