Youth Wellness Council A team of 20 middle school students meet monthly throughout the school year to learn about mental health and sharing their knowledge with peers.
Social Justice and Advocacy Council A team of 12 to 15 high school students work throughout the school year to develop leadership skills while learning about policies and practices relating to equitable access to education.
Youth Wellness Camp Coming in the summer of 2026, the weeklong Youth Wellness Camp builds leadership, mental health, and wellbeing skills for middle and high school students.
Voices and Vibes Check out the Shawnee Library for afterschool workshops, discussions and collaborative art projects that promote literacy, build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and connect teens with each other.
Teen Spring Break Join a team meeting during JCPS Spring Break to learn skills for adulting and making a difference in their community.
Book Club The Book Club is for youth who are interested in reading more and discussing social issues with peers. This group is available to all school-age youth who want to practice reading at a 6th-7th grade reading level.
Digital Literacy Lab In this bi-monthly computer lab, youth and adults learn basic and intermediate computer skills, with time for individual practice and exploration.
