Education Access Fellowship
The Book Works Education Access Fellowship is a paid AmeriCorps service opportunity for emerging professionals who are passionate about supporting young people and strengthening educational equity.
Fellows work directly with middle and high school students experiencing educational disruptions, helping them build academic confidence, strengthen literacy and social-emotional skills, and reconnect with learning.
Whether you’re exploring a career in education, social work, counseling, psychology, or youth development, this fellowship offers meaningful hands-on experience, professional training, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the Louisville community.
About AmeriCorps
AmeriCorps is a national service program that empowers individuals to strengthen communities while developing professional and leadership skills.
Although AmeriCorps members serve as volunteers, our Education Access Fellows receive hourly compensation through The Book Works and earn an AmeriCorps Education Award after completing their required service hours.
Fellowship Focus Areas: 2 Pathways
Adolescent Literacy: Support learners through individualized tutoring, literacy assessments, reading interventions, and academic engagement strategies that help improve learning outcomes.
Youth Mental Health: Learn trauma-informed practices, Mental Health First Aid, peer support strategies, and assist with youth wellness programming that promotes emotional resilience and school success.
